T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon have been busy this week, and it's not all good news. Let's go over the Carrier News Weekly Recap, where we tell you what you should know about your network.

AT&T 5G sees speed boosts

AT&T 5G network across a city

AT&T's 5G infrastructure just got better and faster.

AT&T's acquisition of EchoStar's spectrum has been brought online in just a few weeks across thousands of American cities. 5G speeds on AT&T have improved drastically, with a claimed 80% faster performance.

The company's 5G infrastructure has also become more reliable due to the addition of new towers. AT&T says this upgrade cost it less than having to install new towers from scratch. If you use AT&T, let us know in the comments below if you've noticed any changes.

Verizon lays off 13,000 employees

Verizon is restructuring under new CEO Dan Schulman.

New CEO Dan Schulman says Verizon must stop increasing customer pricing, instead focusing on restructuring its operations to become more efficient. To start, Verizon has laid off 13,000 employees.

Verizon employees are scrambling to make sense of the job market as they prepare to exit their careers. T-Mobile employees are scared for their jobs too, alleging T-Life was made to replace them all.

There were signs of an organized protest shaping up. Verizon employees were discussing calling in sick en masse on Black Friday. The protest quickly fell apart because employees who are being let go cannot pass up the sales commissions earned on Black Friday.

T-Mobile ends free Apple TV On Us perk

T-Mobile On Us perk offers

T-Mobile will not cover Apple TV under On Us.

Apple TV will no longer be free under T-Mobile's On Us perk. T-Mobile says the Apple TV cost increase will only be covered partially. The $9.99 that an Apple TV subscription used to cost will still be paid by T-Mobile. Customers will pay the remaining $3 monthly.

T-Mobile's customers are not happy about the change, but the new T-Mobile Tuesdays blanket may provide some solace during the Winter. Some customers promised to end their Apple TV subscription altogether in protest. If you have done the same, let us know below.
